WriterzRoom usage is credit-based. Credits are consumed when you run a generation, section regeneration, or API-submitted generation. Credit cost is based on the selected pipeline tier and, for Feature Screenplay, the requested page count.

What Consumes Credits

Every generation run consumes credits based on the pipeline tier selected at generation time. The credit cost is fixed per tier regardless of content length, template complexity, or number of expansion attempts within a single generation. Feature Screenplay is the exception because it scales by requested page count.
ActionCredit Cost
Quick generation1 credit
Standard generation4 credits
Premium generation5 credits
Section regenerationSame as the pipeline tier used
API-submitted generationSame as the pipeline tier used
Feature Screenplay: Quick, up to 15 pages1 credit
Feature Screenplay: Standard, 16 to 35 pages4 to 12 credits
Feature Screenplay: Premium, 36 to 70 pages5 to 25 credits
A single generation that requires expansion attempts still costs the same number of credits. You are not double-charged for expansion rounds within one generation request.

Screenplay Credit Scaling

Feature Screenplay generations are charged based on page count rather than a flat tier rate. Credits are calculated in blocks of 15 pages, with the base tier cost as the per-block rate.
Pages RequestedTierCredit Cost
1 to 15Quick1 credit

For full features, use the Act Focus parameter to generate each act as a separate generation and assemble the draft in the Content editor. This is the recommended workflow for professional screenplay development.

What Does Not Consume Credits

These actions are free on all plans:
  • Viewing saved content in the Content Library
  • Editing saved drafts in the rich text editor
  • Exporting content as Markdown, HTML, or PDF
  • Sharing content via link
  • Publishing to connected platforms
  • Browsing templates and style profiles
  • Configuring brand voice or vertical settings
  • Viewing analytics and content intelligence scores

Tracking Your Usage

Your current credit balance and usage breakdown are visible on the Dashboard. The Dashboard shows credits remaining, credits consumed by pipeline type, number of generations in the current billing cycle, and your credit reset date. For programmatic access, the API exposes usage data at two endpoints:
GET /api/credits/usage
GET /api/credits/history
EndpointDescription
GET /api/credits/usageCurrent balance and consumption breakdown
GET /api/credits/historyTransaction-level credit history with timestamps

Credit Reset Cycle

Subscription credits reset on your billing anniversary date, not the calendar month boundary. If you subscribed on March 15, your credits reset on April 15. Unused subscription credits do not roll over to the next cycle. Add-on pack credits operate on a separate 90-day expiry window from the date of purchase. They are consumed only after your monthly subscription credits are fully depleted.

Notifications

WriterzRoom sends usage notifications at two thresholds:
ThresholdBehavior
90% usageWarning that your monthly credits are nearly exhausted
100% usageGeneration is blocked until credits reset or an add-on pack is purchased

Rate Limits

API-submitted generations are rate-limited to 10 requests per minute per user. This prevents accidental bulk consumption from scripts or integrations. The UI does not impose rate limits beyond what the API enforces.

Evaluation Access

The Demo plan provides 6 credits with 7-day access:
  • 5 Quick credits
  • 1 Standard credit
The included Standard credit lets you experience the full research-backed pipeline before committing. Use Demo credits to test both tiers on topics you would actually generate in production. The 7-day trial on Starter, Professional, and Enterprise plans provides full plan access with no credit restrictions during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and the first billing cycle starts. Annual plan subscribers receive their full year of credits at the start of the first paid cycle.

Usage Workflow

1

Choose the generation tier

Select Quick, Standard, or Premium based on the depth and quality requirements of the content.
2

Confirm credit impact

Review the credit cost before running a generation, especially for screenplay page-count workflows.
3

Track balance

Use the Dashboard or API usage endpoints to monitor remaining credits.
4

Add credits or wait for reset

Purchase an add-on pack or wait for the next billing anniversary when credits are depleted.

Operational Guidance

No. Expansion attempts within one generation request are included in the original generation cost.
No. Subscription credits reset each billing cycle and unused credits do not roll over.
Add-on credits are consumed after monthly subscription credits are depleted. They expire 90 days after purchase.
Screenplay output scales by page count, so credit cost is calculated in 15-page blocks instead of one flat tier charge.
Use Demo credits on realistic production topics. This gives the clearest signal on whether Quick or Standard fits your workflow.
